The items have all been selected
by the Canadian Association of Food Banks, B.C. Chapter. They can really
use them!
They include items for babies, kids,
single people and families. The cases will be broken down by food bank
staff and packed into hampers for the clients of the food banks who
have demonstrated a real need for help.
Each food bank will have a ‘delivery
date’ in the last week of each month. NDS will keep track of all
the orders placed by the various businesses. On each food banks ‘delivery
day’ the order will be put together in the warehouse and loaded
onto the truck. The truck will go on it’s regular delivery route
and make its regular drops.
It will make an extra stop at the local
food bank and drop off all the cases of food that all the generous businesses
have donated that month. The driver will give the food bank staff a
separate statement for each business that donated.
